Empowering Students to Lead Sustainability Initiatives

The KU-SDG Ambassador Program聽is a transformative, semester-long initiative aimed at developing a new generation of sustainability leaders at Khalifa University. This program equips students with the skills, knowledge, and leadership capacity to address local sustainability challenges and create meaningful community impact.

 

Program Highlights

  • Exclusive Ambassadorship: A select group of 10 undergraduate students will be chosen as SDG Ambassadors to champion sustainability at KU and beyond.
  • Interactive Workshops: Ambassadors will participate in three dynamic workshops, focusing on:
    • Introduction to SDGs & Climate Action: Led by expert facilitators, , this workshop builds foundational knowledge of the UN SDGs and their relevance to local and global sustainability efforts.
    • Innovation & Program Design: A creative lab that equips participants with design-thinking tools to conceptualize impactful sustainability initiatives.
    • Leadership & Implementation Strategies: A hands-on session to develop leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
  • Community Activation: Ambassadors will apply their learning to design and execute a sustainability-focused volunteering opportunity, creating a tangible and lasting impact on the KU community and beyond.

Program Timeline

The program will run from the beginning of each spring semester, offering students the opportunity to engage in workshops, mentorship, and hands-on project implementation over the course of the semester.
