In line with the global best practices, Khalifa University has initiated some changes in the academic programs, and launched a new scheme of scholarships and benefits for Bachelor, Master’s and PhD, in order to increase the overall focus on research and innovation, while enhancing PhD offering for high-caliber students.

All Emirati students who signed the admission contract, prior to joining the UAE National Service, will continue to be covered under the pre-existing scheme.

Bachelor graduates will be enrolled under the new scheme for Master’s or directly to PhD.
High-caliber bachelor graduates, satisfying the admission criteria with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (or equivalent), may be eligible for direct admission to PhD programs. However, meeting the minimum admission criteria does not guarantee admission.
Scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of the admission process and applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.
The number of available scholarship slots is limited.
All applicants are evaluated and mapped to a specific scholarship Tier on the basis of academic merit and other relevant factors, in line with Khalifa University’s strategic priorities. Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee a scholarship award.
Scholarship benefits for Master’s students may include the following, depending on the Tier:
Teaching and service duties are not mandatory. Students will have the opportunity to earn financial compensation for services provided to Khalifa University.
Master’s students will be required to complete a minimum number of credit hours, consisting of thesis and taught courses, as per the relevant degree structure.
The normal time to completion for a full-time student is one academic year.
