What is Experiential Learning?

It is a transformative experience that occurs when students take ideas and concepts learned in the classroom and apply them in real-world settings.

It encompasses activities such as internships, volunteering, study abroad
programs, fieldwork, and more.

Students who engage in experiential learning activities and reflect on them can better retain knowledge and apply it in new contexts. They also become better critical and creative thinkers.

The Experiential Learning Program at KU underscores the university’s
commitment to fostering community service-oriented, ambitious, and talented critical thinkers

Why is it important and why do we choose to highlight it in this symposium?

The symposium aims to evoke conversations about the different experiential learning opportunities that university students have participated in.

It allows those who have had a chance to pursue experiential learning to share how it has enhanced their personality and academic journey.
