Professor Blaabjerg is a leading expert in the Power Electronic Systems section of Aalborg’s Department of Energy Technology. His research focuses on the practical applications of power electronics, including adjustable-speed drives, microgrids, photovoltaic systems, and wind turbines. Recognized as one of the most cited authors in multiple IEEE journals- such as IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, and IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics-Prof. Blaabjerg was honored with the 2019 Global Energy Prize for his outstanding contributions to the field.
