Mira is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. In Affiliation with the Center for Biotechnology, she serves as Deputy Program Manager of the Biomedical Science Discovery (BISDI) Program and involved in the Emirati Reference Genome Project. Her research combines epidemiology, population genetics, public health, multi-omics, and bioinformatics to investigate genotypic-phenotypic interactions in disease pathogenesis, aiming to identify biomarkers for early diagnosis and drug development. Her primary research areas include women’s reproductive health, metabolic disorders, cancer, and infectious diseases.
Dr. Mira leads the ‘MAR’A Project: Middle Eastern Women Research Association’, an epidemiological study focused on gynecological health in the region, collaborating closely with stakeholders and policymakers in the UAE on women’s reproductive health. Dr. Mira earned her PhD in Genetic Epidemiology of Women’s Reproductive Health from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine from University College London, and a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Central Florida.
