Dr Mostafa Ismael is a distinguished postdoctoral researcher in sustainability, net-zero, and energy innovation at Khalifa University. Employing cutting-edge research methodologies and fundamental engineering principles, he drives the advancement of ground-breaking clean energy technologies, prioritising the pivotal transition towards a net zero economy. At the forefront of his pursuits are the clean production and application of renewable energy and energy conservation solutions, alongside initiatives targeting the decarbonisation of carbon-intensive industrial processes. His expertise includes sustainable engineering solutions and heat/mass transfer, green hydrogen and solar thermal energy, desalination, and environmentally conscious metal/mineral processing techniques. He has published some 25 publications in leading international journals and participated in many research projects. Presently, he occupies a leadership research role within the Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition and waste heat recovery, collaborating closely with industry leaders to drive impactful net-zero initiatives. He is a former assistant professor at Helwan University and has also made significant contributions to teaching and research activities, further participating in the accreditation of the mechanical engineering department. Beyond academia, he has lent his expertise as a high-profile consultant to esteemed construction organisations in Egypt as a green energy consultant, advising on critical aspects of giga-scale solar plants, green ammonia projects, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
