Dr. Mo’tassem Al-arydah completed his PhD from the University of Ottawa (Canada) in 2009. He was a senior lecturer at Khalifa University in 2015-2018 before being hired as an assistant professor in 2019. He worked as an NSERC postdoctoral researcher at Health Canada and as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Ottawa (Canada) from 2009 to 2014. He worked at Hashemite University and high schools from 2000-2005.
Dr. Al-Arydah was awarded faculty excellence in teaching at the College of Arts and Sciences, Khalifa University in 2019. He has published many journal papers and has given many worldwide conference talks.
His research focuses on modeling physical phenomena using ordinary and partial differential equations. He has worked on reaction-diffusion dynamics in hydrogen fuel cells, modeling infectious diseases, modeling the relationship between exposure to ionization radiation and cerebrovascular diseases, and on the assessment of the burden of lung cancer due to residential exposure to radon gas. The current project focuses on optimal control for infectious diseases.
