Ricardo Fonseca is a research scientist in the field of atmospheric sciences at Khalifa University working under the supervision of Professor Diana Francis. After completing his PhD on extreme European weather regimes at the University of Reading, United Kingdom, in August 2011, he joined the Tropical Atmosphere Group at the Earth Observatory of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University as a research fellow on regional climate modelling with a focus on the tropics, in particular on Southeast Asia. He later joined the Group of Atmospheric Science at the Luleå University of Technology in Sweden as a post-doctoral scholar in April 2016, where he continued to work on numerical modelling and data analysis, including on planetary atmospheres, before coming to Khalifa University in January 2019.
