Biography

Dr. Zhixing Lin earned his Bachelor’s degree from Sichuan University and a Master’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, before completing his PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2021 under the mentorship of Professor Frank Caruso at the University of Melbourne. He remained in the Caruso group as a Research Fellow and was later promoted to Senior Research Fellow in recognition of his outstanding contributions. Driven by a passion for engineering innovative nanomaterials that bridge structure and function at the nanoscale, Dr. Lin creatively harnesses natural polyphenols, metal–organic frameworks, and biomolecule-based materials to push the frontiers of nanotechnology and tackle urgent challenges in the environmental, agricultural, and biomedical arenas. To date, he has published 3 patents and 50 peer-reviewed papers, including first- and corresponding-author articles in top-tier journals such as Nat. Re. Chem., Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc., and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Remarkably, 74% of his papers appear in the top 5% of journals in materials and chemistry. His work has been showcased on six journal covers and highlighted 12 times as Spotlights or Hot Papers. With over 3,200 citations, an h10-index of 39, and a field-weighted citation impact of 3.37—more than 2.3 times the global average—Dr. Lin’s research aims to advance the frontiers of nanotechnology and foster innovation across disciplines.
