Program Overview
Ektashif Coding Camp focuses on programming – a critical component of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 long-term economic transformation plan – which calls for the emirate to reduce its reliance on oil in the future and place a greater emphasis on knowledge-based industries.
This program is designed for students in grades 10, 11, and 12 who have a minimum high school average of 90%. Students will be able to create games, apps, and robots as part of the program, which will include co-ed workshops on the fundamentals of C++ and other programming languages.
Program Benefits
Through this program, students can gain experience with artificial intelligence and other relevant in-demand topics.
Students will develop their critical thinking abilities, interpersonal skills, grit, and leadership during the spring camp. Additionally, it will aid students in developing a more complete understanding of themselves, identifying the most appropriate university majors, and preparing them for a college interview.
Al Nokhba Program is a unique program launched by Khalifa University in partnership with the National Service and Reserve Authority (NSRA) in 2019.
The Outreach Office collaborates with the Robotics and Intelligent Systems Institute at the Khalifa University to manage this program by supervising a group of outstanding National Service recruits and providing them with progressive learning materials in a number of scientific and technical subjects.

In August 2020 KU launched the Community Webinar Series,Ìý a string of educational webinars that ran throughout August, with a second series that was launched in January 2021 and ran for one month.
The Community Webinar Series are designed to educate and inform the general public about a variety of beneficial topics, ranging from lessons on the coronavirus to lessons on how to better understand your personality, build leadership skills, create a sustainable lifestyle, and many more.
The series is targeted towards everyone – from high school and university students, to parents, professionals and anyone in between who is interested in broadening their skillset and knowledge. The seminars were offered free of charge to the local and international community of learners as an extension of our active commitment to exchanging knowledge and resources in the spirit of collaboration to promote a happier, more engaged community, and a more sustainable world.

Khalifa University’s Visiting Undergraduate Student Research Experience Program offers exceptional junior and senior undergraduate students from other universities the opportunity to engage in a 6-8 week research project under the guidance of a Khalifa University faculty member. This program is designed to provide hands-on research experience and foster academic growth in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Young Future Energy Leaders (YFEL) program is Khalifa University’s flagship sustainability-focused outreach program that educates, inspires and engages students and young professionals to become future leaders capable of solving the world’s most pressing challenges in advanced energy and sustainability.

The National Ambassadors Program ‘Estedad’ – an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Education – aims to enrich the capabilities of students in UAE high schools and prepare them to excel academically, gain insights in entrepreneurship, and engage in scientific research. This program targets high school students from grades 10 to 12, offering them a choice of three tracks: Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Enrichment, and Scientific Research at Khalifa University.

Welcome to KU Musabaqat VI, a prestigious mathematics competition designed for undergraduate students from the top universities in the GCC region. Join us on November 2, 2024, at Khalifa University for a day filled with mathematical challenges, presentations, and an award ceremony.
Khalifa University’s Summer Challenge is designed for UAE high school students, encouraging them to come up with a solution for a technical challenge which is facing either a specific industry or the world at large.
In 2020, the Summer Challenge was to design an ‘eDoctor’, an online system to connect patients with available doctors for consultation, without physically visiting the healthcare premises.
Another competition KU’s Outreach Office runs is the Smart Mobile Application Contest (SMAC), an introductory course and competition that teaches high school students how to develop mobile applications. The 2021 SMAC event was held under the theme “Creating Apps for EXPO.â€Ìý

The “SpaceAware” competition is orginsed by UAE Space Agency, Ìýan innovative and exciting challenge aimed at students, inviting them to develop mobile applications that enhance awareness and understanding of space exploration, space mission phases, or a space-themed educational game.
This challenge encourages participants to leverage their creativity, technical skills, and passion for space to contribute to the popularization of space science and exploration. “SpaceAware, Igniting Cosmic Curiosity.” is a platform for aspiring developers and space enthusiasts to channel their creativity and technical skills toward a cause that promotes science, exploration, and education in an engaging and accessible manner.
Khalifa University launched an accelerated educational program in August 2020 that allows outstanding high school students to take Bachelor-level courses for credit, and brilliant Bachelor’s students to take Master’s level courses for credit. The Dual Credit program is expected to bridge the gap between educational levels, providing an opportunity for exceptional students to obtain their degrees within a shorter duration.
In its first iteration, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Khalifa University selected 18 elite students from grades 11 and 12 to join this dual credit program in the Fall 2020 semester. They will take one course per semester within the 2020-2021 academic year. The students were given a selection of five courses to choose from including calculus, physics as well as introduction to programming (C++ or Matlab).
Similarly, the Accelerated Master of Science Programs enable exceptional senior undergraduate students in the College of Engineering to start their Master’s studies even while pursuing their undergraduate education. Through the Accelerated MSc program option, a highly motivated student, with the help of her/his academic advisor, can finish undergraduate and Master’s degrees within a nominal period of five-years. The accelerated program targets students for whom a Master’s degree will provide the necessary preparation to achieve career goals, or for pursuing a doctorate degree.
The Ro’ya Program offers high school students workshops and hands-on experience in topics related to the oil and gas industry, helping develop students’ critical thinking and leadership skills.
Throughout the program, students participate in activities that assist them in developing awareness in their academic and social lives. They are exposed to the different aspects and university majors that are important to the gas and oil industry.
The program involves two intensive summer workshops in Abu Dhabi (Summer 1 and Summer 2), followed by a brief refresher program during the winter break. Along with yearly projects and online learning assignments, students participate in monthly mentorship sessions with Khalifa University experts who assist them in working on their projects and learning assignments throughout the duration of the program.

Khalifa University is honored to host the prestigious Chinese Student Camp in collaboration with esteemed institutions, including Sichuan University, Xi’An Jiao Tong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China University of Petroleum, and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. This camp has been designed to provide Chinese students with an exceptional opportunity to engage themselves in the academic and cultural life of the United Arab Emirates. Schedule during January of every year. this camp promises an enriching experience filled with a diverse array of activities. These activities have been thoughtfully to seamlessly blend academic enrichment, cultural exploration, and invaluable industry exposure.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU) is set to welcome a cohort of students currently enrolled in the National Service, as part of a collaborative initiative between KU and the National Service and Reserve Authority (NSRA). This partnership aims to empower National Service recruits by offering them a platform for in-depth learning, particularly in scientific and technical domains. Through this initiative, a maximum of 30 participants will be selected for a program spanning from the start of the Spring semester to the end of the summer semester. This opportunity will allow participants to explore a world of knowledge and innovation while simultaneously preparing themselves for a promising future filled with opportunities for growth and development.

Med-Camp provides learning and growth opportunities for students with an interest in pursuing careers in Medicine & Health Sciences. It is taught by healthcare professionals and features hands-on skills & interactive learning opportunities. This week long event is an opportunity for Emirati High School students to socially connect and get excited about Medicine.Ìý
